What's NEW?

We recently welcomed the NEW spring season.  Warmer weather, flowers blooming, and students playing frisbee on the quad and laughing about something funny that happened in class are the sights and sounds I've encountered at MBU that last few days.  After a tough midwest winter, I am ready for the spring season.  Are you?

Have you seen the NEW construction on campus?  We are anxiously awaiting the opening of the Sports and Recreation Complex and Spartan Village, slated for early fall.  Do you want to be a part of the excitement?  Purchase a personalized paver for the entrance plaza.

Speaking of NEW, did you recently get a new job, get married in the past few months, or welcome a new baby into your family?
Complete this form and tell us what is new and exciting in your life and your update may be published in the next issue of the MBU Magazine.  Please include a photo with your update.

MBU Alumni Featured on HGTV's House Hunters

MBU alumni and former staff Jon '03 and Lisa '04 Hessel were featured on HGTV's House Hunters in March.  Jon was leaving his job as MBU's Director of Residential Life when the episode was filmed.  The episode chronicles Jon and Lisa's search for their first home in the St. Louis area.  Some of the scenes were filmed on campus.  Find out more HERE.

Remember When...

In 1992 MBU had classes at three extension sites: Troy, Wentzville, and Union.  The photos to the left show the Troy Extension Center and its students hard at work in 1992.  MBU has expanded quite a bit since 1992.  Currently more than 5,000 MBU students are taking classes on the main campus in West County, Franklin County, Jefferson County, Troy/Wentzville, Lewis and Clark, Mineral area and St. Charles, not to mention online.

Alumni Spotlight: Lisa Blazer, B.A. Piano Performance '87

"My favorite memory is getting engaged to my husband (David Blazer, class of 1987) during The King and I musical rehearsal."

Why she chose to attend MBU: It was close to home but I could still live in the dorms.  I was a bit shy back then so the small class atmosphere really appealed to me as well as the Christian emphasis.  MBU also offered me a scholarship for piano, which was great and very much needed.

Choir with Dr. Dana DePugh and Music Theory with Dr. Gregory Danner

Occupation: Assistant Vice President for Financial Aid and Enrollment Services at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Hobbies:
