The Results Are In!

So what did the survey tell us?
- 10% of respondents haven't been to campus in over 6 years. Several things have changed on campus in this short time, and we'd love to welcome you back to campus for a visit or an upcoming event.
- Several people mentioned they would purchase items from the bookstore if there was the ability to do so online. We are happy to share that you can purchase your own MBU gear from the online bookstore.
- 75% of respondents are interested in an alumni gathering at the Cardinals game. Almost 60% of respondents are interested in an event at the Muny. As a result, an MBU Night at the Muny and the Cardinals game are currently being planned for July and September respectively as part of a summer series...stay tuned for more details about "Spartan Summer Nights."
- Alumni living outside the St. Louis area showed interest in hosting MBU regional alumni events. We were happy to hear from these alumni, who live all the way from Tampa, Florida to Louisville, Kentucky and out west to California.
- People enjoyed the food and the fellowship at past MBU alumni events. If you have not been to an alumni event, join us. We hope to impress you.
- Respondents were interested in ways to serve their alma mater. Whether it is mentoring students, recruiting prospective students, or helping plan events, we want to find a good fit for you if you are interested. Stay tuned for future opportunities.
- An overwhelming 80% of respondents preferred to be contacted through e-mail. Several people also wanted to be contacted via Facebook. Read below about how you can find us through social media.

People of all ages are joining popular social media sites to re-connect with friends and former classmates. The reasons people use social media are countless. Do you ever wonder what happened to your former classmates? Like us on Facebook to easily locate them. Do you want to network professionally with other alumni? Join our group on LinkedIn. Do you want to find out what is going on at MBU as it is happening? Follow MBU on Twitter. Those are three easy ways to connect with other alumni and your Alumni Association.

What's New in Your Life?
Did you recently change jobs? Did you get married in the past few months? Did you welcome a new baby into your family? Complete this form and tell us what is new and exciting in your life by March 11 and your update may be published in the next issue of the MBU Magazine. Please include a photo with your update.
Remember When...
In 1985, Missouri Baptist College and Six Flags co-sponsored Christian Family Weekend. MBC's own "Anticipation" music group performed during the rainy three-day event.This year the Missouri Baptist University Alumni Association is visiting popular St. Louis attractions for a series of summer events, called "Spartan Summer Nights." The series will include special pricing for alumni to attend the events at the St. Louis Symphony, Magic House, Muny, Missouri Botanical Gardens, and a Cardinals game at Busch Stadium.

Why he chose to attend MBU: I chose MBU because of both it's proximity to St. Louis and the size of the campus. I transferred from a much larger state school and enjoyed the atmosphere of the MBU campus and the small class size.
Favorite MBU professor: Dr. Cordell Schulten
Favorite MBU memory: Relationships overall, but if I had to pick one event it was a MBU sponsored skiing trip. We had a blast; got stuck on a mountain, fell down, lost skis, lost a chaperone on a black diamond run (who we caught up with 4 hours later, he had apparently reached the road a few miles outside the ski area and hopped a bus back to the lifts). We spent one day skiing with Justin McRoberts and the next hanging out with Bebo Norman, who, we later found out, was the crush of every girl on the trip.

Hobbies: Fly fishing, blogging. I'm always looking for new music and new haunts in St. Louis (one of my latest favorites is Local Harvest off Morganford Rd.)
