As your students finalize their college decisions, this edition of the Counselor E-News Bulletin will provide you with the information necessary to help your students be a Billiken in 2011!

Housing and tuition deposits due May 1 

Please remind your students admitted to Saint Louis University of our upcoming May 1 tuition and housing deposits deadlines in order for them to ensure their spot in the SLU Class of 2015. If they have not already done so, the non-refundable, $200 tuition deposit may be submitted via

Students should submit the housing application, contract and $250 housing fee as early as possible to better the chances of receiving top housing choices. The $250 housing fee is due before May 1 and is comprised of a $200 advance payment, refundable until May 1, and a $50 nonrefundable processing fee.

Also, if your students received financial aid award packages from SLU, they should decline or accept their awards as soon as possible. All of these items may be submitted via the mySLU portal. Directions can be found in students’ admission packets.

Save the Date for the 2011 Counselor Luncheon - Tuesday, Sept., 20!

The Office of Admission is pleased to invite all local counselors to the annual Counselor Luncheon on Tuesday, Sept., 20, 2011. During the event, you will hear from the St. Louis recruitment team about admission, academic and application updates. Look for your formal invitation in the mail during the coming weeks and please save the date for the 2011 Counselor Luncheon on Sept. 20!

Featured Admission Counselor: Mei-Ling Tung

International Admission Counselor Mei-Ling joined Saint Louis University’s Office of Admission in February 2011. Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Tung came to the United States for school 11 years ago and received a graduate degree in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. She now works with prospective international students from Asia.

Final high school transcripts

Please remind your students to send in their final high school transcripts, listing the date of their graduation, to the University by August 1.

SLU 101 dates

Please remind admitted students who have submitted their tuition deposit to register for a SLU 101 Summer Orientation session.

2011 SLU 101 program dates:
  • June 2 - 3
  • June 6 - 7
  • June 9 - 10
  • June 13 - 14
  • June 16 - 17
  • June 20 - 21
  • June 23 - 24
  • June 27 -28 
  • June 30 - July 1
If your students have not already done so, they should register as soon as possible, as sessions fill quickly. Students may register for SLU 101 via the mySLU portal. They must submit their tuition deposit to register for SLU 101.

Summer Presentations for prospective Billikens, Class of 2016

SLU admission counselors will travel across the country this summer to host Summer Presentations. These events will give prospective students entering their senior year a chance to learn more about SLU from admission and financial aid counselors. This also is a social event for prospective students to meet other students from the area interested in SLU.

Summer Presentations will be hosted in the following cities:

  • July 25 - Indianapolis
  • July 25 - Houston
  • July 26 - Cincinnati
  • July 28 - Dallas
  • July 31 - Louisville
  • August 2 - Milwaukee
  • August 3 - Phoenix
  • August 4 - Nashville
  • August 8 - Minneapolis
  • August 8 - San Diego
  • August 9 - Chicago
Students will receive invitations with complete event details in the coming months.
