Summer marks an excellent time to begin researching external funding opportunities as many deadlines are in October and November, and applications usually take several weeks to complete. Begin your research here.
Fulbright Grants for U.S. Students--Campus Deadline is Fast Approaching!
These grants enable students to conduct research/study abroad for an academic year. Learn more about the grant and its eligibility requirements here. The campus deadline is September 12th--all applicants must submit a hard copy of their application to GSAS by this date to be considered.

Anticipated Graduate Career Fellow (GCF) Position for the 2013-14 Academic Year
The GCF will collaborate with academic departments, GSAS, and others to organize career programs and events. GCFs receive a yearly stipend (TBD) and work 6-8 hours/week on a flexible schedule. For more information, contact Sue Levine, Assistant Director for Career Services.

Do You Need A Summer Loan?
If you are taking a summer course or finishing a thesis and need to borrow loans, please submit the Federal Direct Stafford Loan Application by Friday, June 21.
Do You Need Loans for the Fall and/or Spring?
Please check Financial Aid for helpful information regarding the loan application process. The recommended application deadline for the Fall bill (sent out Monday, July 8) is Friday, June 28.
Questions about loans should be directed to Katharine Linnehan, Assistant Director of Financial Aid.
AUGUST GRADUATION DEADLINES
Thursday, August 1: Deadline for August Ph.D. candidates to defend dissertations.
Wednesday, August 14: Deadline for submission of Certification of Master's Thesis Acceptance Form.
Thursday, August 15: Final day for August degree candidates to electronically deposit their dissertations or theses (by 4 p.m.).
Monday, August 26: New Student Orientation, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
All entering students are required to attend. Please check your e-mail for additional details as the date gets closer.
Tuesday, August 27: Teaching Fellows Practicum, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Olin-Sang Auditorium
All new TFs or CAs who will be teaching or assisting with a course this fall for the first time are required to attend. Please go here for additional information.
Tuesday, August 27, International Students Orientation, 1 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

FALL LANGUAGE COURSES
The Graduate School will be offering free courses in French, German and Hebrew. They are primarily geared towards students preparing to take a Ph.D. language exam; the courses are focused on reading knowledge with no emphasis on speaking and listening. Courses generally meet one evening per week for 2 to 3 hours. Additional information may be found here.
